These photos are of the cairn for Lachlan MacLean in Lower Washabuck, Cape Breton. It was here during the first International Gathering of The Clans to be held in Nova Scotia, that Clan Maclean Atlantic was conceived. Lachlan lived to an amazing 114 years. Our first president and founder, George, was his descendant. Sir Lachlan, 28th chief of Clan Maclean, visited the cairn during his trip to Canada in 2003, as did his father, Sir Charles, during his visit in 1950.
